A personal starting point
Ben Gorham founded Byredo in Stockholm with a desire to translate memories and emotions into objects and experiences. Fragrance became a way of telling stories that did not need to be explained in words.
The house combines a restrained visual language with expressive ideas. Its compositions draw on cultural references and personal associations, giving each creation its own point of departure.
A wider sensory world
Byredo’s creative approach extends beyond perfume into home scent, body care and other designed objects. Materials, form and storytelling are considered together.
That is the attraction of the house: an object can feel simple at first glance and still carry a rich personal meaning. Scent supplies the invisible part of the design.
