A discovery while travelling

Moroccanoil co-founder Carmen Tal first experienced an argan oil hair treatment while away from home. The effect on the feel and appearance of her hair prompted a new ambition: to share that kind of experience more widely.

Moroccanoil Treatment became the starting point. Its combination of conditioning and styling, together with a distinctive amber and floral scent, gave the brand a recognizable identity.

The idea grew beyond one bottle

Argan oil remains the connecting ingredient across Moroccanoil’s haircare, body care and professional color collections. The brand grew through salons, with stylists helping introduce its products to new clients.

That relationship between a memorable first experience and an everyday routine still shapes the house. The familiar scent and textures carry the original idea into many different forms of care.
