The island is the inspiration

Carthusia’s story is inseparable from Capri. The house connects its identity to the island’s gardens, Mediterranean landscape and a legend about the monks of the Certosa di Capri. That legend forms part of its cultural heritage, rather than a confirmed founding date.

The brand describes its small fragrance laboratory near the Gardens of Augustus as a place where local memory becomes perfume. Flowers, landscape and a sense of place give the collection its language.

Keeping a local craft alive

Carthusia emphasizes hand production and the care of craftsmanship. The Ruocco family’s connection to Capri is part of the modern house’s commitment to preserving that identity.

Its fragrances and scented bath products offer different ways to encounter the same world: Italian style, island nature and a deep attachment to home.
