A British story of discovery

ELEMIS was founded in London in 1989 by Linda Steiner, alongside Sean Harrington, Oriele Frank and Noella Gabriel. The original ambition was to bring skincare closer to nature, combining the founders’ different areas of expertise.

That curiosity grew into a British spa and skincare house inspired by both land and sea. Botanical and marine ingredients give the collection its vocabulary; scientific research shapes how those ingredients become finished formulas.

A formula is also an experience

Touch, texture and scent are part of the ELEMIS identity. Its roots in aromatherapy and professional treatments help explain why a cleansing balm or body oil can feel like a small ritual, even at home.

The brand’s journey included spa and retail spaces aboard cruise ships, followed by its flagship House of ELEMIS in London’s Mayfair. Across those settings, the same idea remains: skincare connects what a formula does with how it feels to use.
