EltaMD traces its earliest inspiration to an ointment passed through generations of farmers in rural Switzerland. In 1988, that heritage reached the United States and became the basis of Elta, a professional wound-care line.
The next chapter arrived in 2007, when the company brought its medical-skincare background into everyday products under the EltaMD name. The distinction connects the brand’s present identity with the earlier work that helped shape it.
