Spiced plum opens it alongside cinnamon, cardamom and Calabrian bergamot, so the sweetness arrives with an edge already on it. The heart keeps the lavender that has anchored Le Male since the beginning, joined here by boozy davana and earthy artemisia. Tonka bean, benzoin, honey, tobacco, patchouli and labdanum build the dry-down. The bottle is the sailor torso the house has used since 1995, cast here in polished gold over deep amber glass rather than the usual clear flacon. Made in France.

How to Use:

Spray onto warm pulse points, the inner wrists, the base of the throat and the chest. Do not rub the wrists together, which shears the spiced top notes early. At this concentration one or two sprays go further than you would expect from an eau de toilette, so start low. It reads best in cold weather and after dark.
