The Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen in Black is a design icon, made in Germany without interruption since 1966 and displayed at the Museum of Modern Art. Its seamless Makrolon body, a tough fiberglass-polycarbonate, warms to the hand and develops a soft patina over years of use, paired with a brushed stainless steel grip for balance. A semi-hooded 14-karat gold nib, partly platinum-plated, glides with a smooth, wet medium line that suits both writing and sketching. An integrated piston fills directly from a bottle of ink, holding a generous reservoir for long writing sessions, and discreet view slits let you check the level. A spring-loaded steel clip secures it in a pocket. Minimalist, durable, and refined, it is a pen made to be used for a lifetime.
