Xerjoff Purple Accento Eau de Parfum takes the Accento idea somewhere warmer and more exotic, setting tropical fruit against oud without letting either one win. Pineapple, mandarin, bergamot and hyacinth open bright and almost edible, then tart loganberry and pink pepper sharpen the middle while powdery orris root keeps the sweetness in check. The agarwood underneath is clean and finely calibrated rather than smoky, so the base reads rich instead of heavy. Eight to ten hours on skin and days on a coat. The deep purple flacon carries the gold crown cap, and a Como silk foulard is packed in the box.

How to Use:

Spray onto bare pulse points -- inner wrists, the sides of the neck, the crook of the elbow -- and leave it to dry. Two or three sprays project well. Mist a scarf for a longer trail, and keep the flacon out of direct sun.
